About me
Let me introduce myself: my name is Ivo Vandeberg.
I’m a Web and Graphics Designer, living in and working from Maastricht, the Netherlands. I’ve had my own business since 2001 > Concept, Image & Design.
Recently I’ve also worked at Vodafone Netherlands as User Experience Specialist, entailing: Senior Frontend Web Developer and Application Developer.
My Study
I studied Theater Design and during my study I developed a love for Digital Media.
When I was studying Theater Design I participated in an exchange program with the Art Academies of Amsterdam, Utrecht and Prague in which we analyzed the integration of - and experimented with - Digital Multimedia in Theater Design. And for the last two years of my study I really started to focus on Digital Content Creation; creating Theater Designs in 3D Studio Max™ and Costume Designs in Photoshop. I also already started making work for others; making Poster or Flyer Designs for fellow students’ recitals or parties.
Work experience project
I did my work experience project at a company that designs and builds stands for commercial fares. It was a fairly big company but, to my amazement, they were using an outdated version of some kind of CAD software to plot linedrawings and then colored them with markers. When they saw my designs rendered in 3D Studio Max™ and composited in a shot from the actual location they immediately made an appointment with a Discreet (3D Studio Max/Viz’s™ producer) reseller and started working with 3D Studio Viz™ (A variant of 3D Studio Max™ which is directed more towards architectural rendering.) from then on! About my work
After my study I drifted towards Digital Multimedia even more when I was asked to build a website for someone. I already had a rough introduction to building websites but nowhere near enough. So ‘I went home’ and bought a book on building websites. And the rest is history as they say…
During my career I’ve done projects for a variaty of companies (see client list) and different fields of Design and Development (Web Des.&Dev., Graphic Design, Application Design and Development.)
